Simulation, Innovation and Patient Safety Conference: Achieving Excellence in Healthcare
The HEE South West Simulation Network is holding a regional Simulation, Innovation and Patient Safety Conference on 17th October, and Invitations are cordially extended to all health care professionals and users of health care.
This free of charge celebratory event will share learning and best practice from eminent experts in Simulation, Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), Patient Safety and Multi-professional team working. We cordially invite you to submit abstracts and the best exemplars of simulation and innovations in health care will be selected for either an oral or a poster presentation. Honorarium will be awarded for the best presentations.
Dr Bryn Baxendale
Consultant Anaesthetist and Chair of Simulation Working Group, Royal College of Anaesthetist & Chair of Simulation Advisory and Development Committee, HEE will share his expertise on 'Adaptive simulation: meeting the needs of the future workforce'
Sukie Shinn
Project Manager for the National Simulation-Based Education (SBE) Strategy and National TEL Programme from HEE will share her 'strategic overview and vision of simulation-based education (SBE).'
Dr Ben Ivory
National Education Lead for Organ Donation with NHSBT will present 'The National Deceased Donation Simulation Course - Experiences of running a national simulation course.'
Professor Robert Stone
Visiting Professor in XR & Telepresence, Extreme Robotics Laboratory, University of Birmingham will deliver 'Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality for Healthcare .... the Facts ... the Fiction.'
Attendees may choose any two of the following workshops:
• Tiny Sim: Fitting a full educational experience into a small time frame,
• Digital Interactive Technologies for Simulation (including 4 Virtual Reality stations),
• Technology Enhanced Learning(TEL),
• Human Factors & Reducing Errors,
• Experience the Simbulance,
• Moulage.
There is no onsite parking available at the Exeter Rougemont Hotel, EX4 3SP, however the hotel is conveniently located 0.16km from Exeter Central station and there are local car parks all located less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel:
